Belfast May 2016

This was a flying visit to a conference in Belfast for the Higher Education Academy Special Interest Group in Accounting Education.  I was very happy to attend and visit old colleagues having previously worked with the staff at Ulster University in the city.  Another reason for enjoying visiting Belfast is the family tie that I have to the city where my dads family are from (my dad is Northern Irish, but was born in Derry while the remainder of his family was from Belfast).

I find Belfast a beautiful city and love driving round the city with its murals, architecture and mountain backdrop.

As part of the conference we were hosted for a dinner at Stormont House, a very historical building with links to the war, the peace process and the ongoing assembly.

I enjoyed catching up with some old friends and seeing some places in the city which I wouldn't had have access to otherwise.
